web architecture

INTRODUCTION:
Joint admission and matriculation board was set up in 1978 for the entry examination into all university, polytechnics and colleges of education in Nigeria, now jamb has grown as one of biggest Africa examination bodies. The examination is conducted and has 1.5m candidate and when registration commence the use to be complains about the registration because of the number of candidates registering for (the online biometric registration) so there use to have
Problems in connection speed, browser, server storage space, website content, bandwidth
And as an independent web designer and blogger I think the relevant web architecture components needed to make this process a success are;

          WEB ARCHITECTURE:
Website architecture is an approach to design and planning for business purpose and also focuses on the foundation technologies and principles which sustain the web, including URLS and HTTP

WEB ARCHITECTURE COMPONENT:
There web architecture component are

1.       Hardware- which constitute of web servers, mail servers, proxy servers and routers
2.       Software’s - which include browsers and emails
3.       Protocols - which comprise of TCP/IP

HARDWARE
4.       Hardware can simply be described as physical or material components that constitute or comprise a computer system. They can be simplified as material components of a computer that can be seen and touched. The hardware components of web architecture include; web servers, mail servers, proxy servers and routers.
5.
·        WEB SERVER
Web servers are an absolutely vital part of web architecture and the whole internet itself, a web server is a type of server that has the dedicated job of distributing data to users connected to the internet. The vast majority of everything on the internet is hosted on a web server, making access to all websites, download links and data storage spaces for the client all done through a web server. As well as the internet applications such as web sites, they also serve for hosting games as well and other types of applications that require multiple nodes connecting together.
Proxy server: it a hardware that function as an intermediary between a web browser and the internet. Proxy server helps improve web performance by storing a copy of frequently used webpages. The proxy server are also used mostly by networks in organisation and individual
Mail: is transmission hardware it transfers messages over communication networks. A mail message generally co
SOFTWARE:
·         EMAIL : Email is a very obvious part of web architecture and the features that surround it, pretty much everyone knows what an Email is and all have an email address themselves that they use. What an email is, is a way of sending and receiving online post, using something called an Email Address, this is something that you create that is unique to every user so that no one can duplicate where they send emails to, and it uses the protocol as stated above.
6.

Description the TCP/IP and it roles in web architecture and how it links to application layer protocols; first of all let me talk about protocols,
 Protocols;
Talking about the application layer is reserved for communications protocols and for methods designed for process-to-process communications across an internet protocols computer network, Its also uses the transport layer protocols so to allow host to host
connections.

TCP/IP is an acronym for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol it is a set of rules that define packets (load) of information must reach the end user and if necessary it will resend the packets of information.

There are many different application layer protocols in relation to the TCP/IP protocol which are:
Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
  • Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
    (SMTP)
  • Domain Name System (DNS)
  • File Transfer Protocol (FTP)

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is the protocol that enables the connection between a web server and a client it is an application layer protocol for distributing information in the World Wide Web (WWW). Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is based on the client–server architecture.

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is a TCP/IP protocol used in sending and receiving e-mail but it is limited in its ability to queue messages at the receiving end so it is usually used with one of two other protocols, POP3 or IMAP, that let the user save messages in a server mailbox and download them from the server periodically.

Domain Name System (DNS) is a TCP/IP protocol which is a hierarchical distributed naming system for computers, services, and any other resource connected to the internet or a private network, such as a printer or scanner. It assigns a domain name to each device and it translates easily memorised domain names to the numerical IP addresses which are needed for the purpose of locating computer services and devices worldwide and in your local network.

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a TCP/IP protocol which is used to transfer files from one user, called a host, to another user over a TCP-based network, such as the Internet. FTP is also based on the server architecture and uses separate control and data connections between the client and the server. FTP users can authenticate themselves using a clear-text sign-in protocol, usually in the form of a username and password, but can sign in anonymously if
the server is configured to allow it.

All these protocols are TCP/IP due to each protocol must definitely send the information across the internet to the destination without fail and if a packet of information is lost then it will resend that packet of information until the end user gains the full information and detail.

CONCLUSION: jamb should increase their web server, the should limit some of their registration protocol and also if some of the web component are well managed and used the will be no problem
